Songbird Sweets and Treats, LLC, is the creation of owner and founder, Carmela Pedicini.  

You may know Carmela from her twenty years as a nurse, childbirth educator, and lactation consultant in Sarasota.  These days she can hardly go to the grocery store in Sarasota without running into moms with babies she helped bring into the world– although they are often no longer babies.  

Or you may know her from her long career as part of the Florida music scene, most recently with the band, Passerine.   

Songbird Sweets & Treats is the realization of a dream she has nurtured for many years.   She has long dreamed of having a brick-and-mortar café that caters to young families, but realized that this was not something she could sustain along with her music.  A food trailer loaded with sweet treats seemed a good alternative.  She has spent many years supporting moms, babies, and families. As a health care provider or a purveyor of treats, she says, “I just want to make people happy.”   Adults associate ice cream with fond memories of childhood, and sharing ice cream is a great way to make new memories.
